Helena Ribbefors is an Attorney at Law and an Authorised European Trademark and Design Attorney, who has worked at Awapatent since 2008. Helena's areas of practice cover all aspects of intellectual property law, marketing law and competition law. Helena assists clients with advice on their IP strategies and management of their IP portfolios. She also assists clients in commercial contracts, clearance searches as well as negotiations, prosecution and litigation. Helena assists Swedish and foreign clients from a broad range of industries.
Having a keen interest in entrepreneurship, growth companies and start-up companies with focus on IP-intensive businesses, Helena actively collaborates with local organisations and universities supporting their IP development. Helena is also a board member of the Trademark Committee of SIPF (Association of IP Professionals in the Swedish Industry) where she is a deputy convener. She is also a member of MARQUES (the European association representing the interests of trademark owners) and VIRK (the West Swedish Intellectual Property Rights Club). Furthermore, Helena is an appreciated lecturer on IP and IP strategies and is appointed by clients, associations and university students on a regular basis.

During 2011 Helena was appointed to work for the Legal Service of the EU Commission in Brussels. Within the Legal Service she worked for the Competition Team with various litigation cases, such as the Microsoft case in the General Court in Luxembourg. Helena has previously worked at the trademark department of SCA Hygiene Products AB where she has managed agreement and trademark matters as well as created routines for managing agreements. Helena has furthermore worked at the renewals department of Patrix AB, which provides IP management software, by managing renewals, writing license agreement and updating country and law files.
