WIPO Re:Search surpasses 100 members

WIPO’s consortium for combating dangerous diseases – WIPO Re:Search – has now more than 100 participating organizations after the French research foundation Institut Pasteur recently became the 101st member.

WIPO Re:Search was established in 2011 to help fight neglected tropical diseases, tuberculosis and malaria that affect more than a billion people worldwide, largely in poorer regions.

The participating pharmaceutical companies and research institutes can collaborate and freely share intellectual property and research findings to speed up the development of new diagnostics, vaccines and treatments. In 2015, the consortium added 10 new partners and finalized 21 collaboration agreements.

WIPO Re:Search is administered by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and BIO Ventures for Global Health (BVGH).
