Sweden has ratified the Unified Patent Court

The Swedish parliament recently approved a government proposal for a unitary patent protection in the EU. This means that Sweden, following Austria and France, ratifies the agreement on a Unified Patent Court.

In order for the new court to become operational, another ten countries (including Great Britain and Germany) must complete the process of ratification of the agreement.

In the end of May, a referendum in Denmark resulted in a clear ‘yes’ to the new court.
