Awapatent is relocating its head office in Malmö. On 1 July 2011 the company will settle into new premises in Universitetsholmen, one of the most dynamic new development areas now taking shape in the city. In conjunction with the move, Awapatent will sell its current property that has been the company’s headquarters since 1970.
On 1 July 2011 Awapatent will move from its current home at Bellevuevägen 46 in Malmö. The building has served as Awapatent’s head office since the company commissioned its construction in 1970.
Now, however, Awapatent has made the decision to move to new premises in the city’s Universitetsholmen area, where numerous law firms, advertising agencies and other consulting companies have set up shop in recent years. The new address is also just a three-minute walk from the Central Railway Station, a hub for the Öresundstågen commuter trains that will soon link southern Sweden and Copenhagen via Malmö’s new City Tunnel.
“For us, as one of Europe’s leading names in our industry, the move to the dynamic Universitetsholmen area opens up some very interesting prospects,” says Magnus Hallin, CEO of Awapatent. “Our co-workers, from Höganäs in the north to Falsterbo in the south, will have access to good public transport services to take them to and from work. And the move will make travel to and from our second biggest office, in the centre of Copenhagen, much quicker, easier and smoother.”
The Awapatent Building on Bellevuevägen has been sold to the dental technology company, Tic – Tandteknik i Centrum, and their property company, Hellasvägen Invest. The new owners will move in on 1 May this year. They will conduct their business in part of the current premises and lease most of the floor space to Awapatent.
From the summer of 2011 there will then be room for new tenants in the building, which also includes a fully equipped restaurant.
